As I have stated in earlier posts, I do not actively engaging in personal interactions with many people, and I certainly don’t like someone all up in my business. Maintaining some social distancing is natural for me, but not everyone has the desire or ability to separate themselves, and when they do it becomes very lonely and depressive for them. I see this on a daily basis with my neighbors and those in my small town. Walk outside and you can almost always see either a small group of adults or, in most cases, a large gaggle of children playing around. Some families have taken the social distancing concept very seriously, and have gone to great lengths to protect them and their families. Although some neighbors have been a bit rude about their stance via text messages, I can understand their viewpoint to protect their family. I don’t know what each persons situation is, so I work to be understanding.

On the flip side of things you see so many people in town that seem to be going about their business as usual, oblivious to the public health and economic meltdown going on around them. People like this are infuriating to me because they will be the ones who cause a resurgence of the virus, which will ultimately keep us in locked down quarantine for longer. I love being able to work from home, but I’m not keen to being confined all the time for endless months. At some point I want to be able to resume my normal life of going to eat, gym, and taking my kids to school and sporting events.

As a result of the quarantine, we’re getting rather bored here. While working in my home office this week, my two girls opened the door with stickers all over them from a Lego sticker book. It was quite comical to see them standing there with sheepish grins on their faces. They almost seemed proud of themselves. I couldn’t help but laugh at them a bit. Also, we discovered that Amazon Alexa devices have the ability to fart. Not just regular farts, but you can do cow farts, dragon farts, and any other combination of farts. When trying to entertain a special needs child you have to lower the maturity level quite a bit. Don’t judge. 🙂 What silly things are you doing with yourself and your family during this time?

The only places we manage to go is the grocery store or to visit grandma once or twice a week to take her groceries. This is good for everyone as it’s limited exposure, we get to help out, and we can actually see some family face-to-face. We don’t want her to go out and become exposed since she is in the higher risk category. The last thing we need is grandma getting sick because she has done so much to give some relief of having a daughter who requires 100% attention and supervision. She has brain damage from her seizures not being caught early enough, and she picks at her skin constantly. It’s so sad because she has sores all over her legs and arms. We never noticed the seizures because they are not the convulsive kind. It’s like a light switch was going off and on all day long, and she would stare off without anyone noticing what was going on. This is a common symptom of brain damage victims. Needless to say it’s very tiresome for a family, and I can’t wait for them to be able to go back to school. So I’m a plea for my sanity, I want to ask, no, beg everyone to stay home so we can stop this thing.
